My Post and Anonymous Response in Today’s Telegraph

The theory that women possess talent equal to men's is but
another symptom of the profound decadence of the contemporary West.  In fact, women are not remotely as gifted as men in the higher pursuits, primarily because genius is exclusive to the primary gender.

Physics?
Philosophy?
Cosmology? Classical music?
Painting and sculpture?
Mathematics?

To pretend that women ever have, or ever could equal men in these activities is simply a politically correct fashion, like the belief in racial equality, that in the face of truth will not be able to sustain itself much longer.

I once reduced a dinner party to helpless laughter by asking the
attendees to imagine a female Newton, Plato, Wagner, etc.

In the long run, it is the anti-experiential desire for an absolute across-the-board global egalitarianism that will kill our civilization.
America was doomed from the start owing to its commitment to that preposterous ideology, but the decay and impending collapse of Britain is a real tragedy.

" What ignorant rubbish -have you never heard of scientists such as Marie Curie or Rosalind Franklin?  I don't suppose Jane Austen, George Eliot, the Bronte Sisters or Virginia Woolf rank as world class writers to you but to me they are every bit as good as the great men; and I doubt you can find me a more profound and complex piece of contemporary orchestral music than Sofia Gubaidulina's Passion of St John.  In philosophy you might want to investigate Philippa Foot given that her reasoning on values is right up your alley....and if she doesn't please there is Mary Anscombe, Mary Warnock -I am running out space..."

Drole.  Not even a feminist would wish to claim that the lady writers you mention, garden club members, could compare with Dostoevsky, Faulkner, the Greeks, etc.  (The astonishing cultural  achievement of the Greeks was very largely owing to the absence of female participation.)
You say that my contribution is ignorant rubbish, and then compare me to the very brilliant Phillipa Foot.  Conflicting statements such as these may tend to reflect pessimistically on your own philosophic prospects.  In any case, the very last I want is Phillipa's Foot "right up my alley."
